Willie Wade Davis was born on January 31, 1937, in Winnsboro SC to the late Elliott and Annie Robertson Davis. He transitioned to his heavenly home on October 5, 2023.
Wille Wade was educated in Fairfield County Public Schools and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1955; after which he enlisted in the United State Army and had a long career until his retirement in 1976. During those 21 years, he served two tours in Vietnam, two tours in Germany and two tours in Korea. During his service he received the following awards and honors: Combat Infantry Badge, Parachutists’ Badge, Army Commendation Medal First Award, Good Conduct Medal Fifth Award, Vietnam Service Medal, and letters of commendation in the US Army. During his time of military service, he made many lasting friendships including Anthriest and Frances Hill of Sumter, SC. During more than 60 years of friendship, Anthriest and Willie Wade became true brothers.
Following military retirement, Willie Wade was employed with the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Department, the SC Department of Corrections, and as a security officer for a variety of agencies including SCE&G. He received four letters of appreciation for service while serving as a Fairfield County Deputy Sheriff. He was also a licensed barber and worked at Town Barber Shop in Ridgeway, SC.
He was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist in Ridgeway, and St. John Baptist in Winnsboro. He served as both trustee and deacon for those congregations.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 59 years, Queen Butler Roseborough Davis of Winnsboro, SC now residing in Spartanburg, SC; his children: George Roseborough, Winnsboro, SC; Omar Muhammad (Pamela), Houston, TX; Carmen Davis Simons (Kevin), Smyrna, GA; DeeDee Davis Washington (Kent), Simpsonville, SC and Donte Davis (Alicia), Newport News, VA.
From these unions, Willie Wade cherished his grandchildren, including
Alijah, Omar Jr and Essien Muhammad; Kevin Jr and Jason Simons; Kentra, Marion and Eric Washington; and Madison Davis; and one great grandchild Trinity Stevens.

Funeral service will be 10:30 am Tuesday October 17, 2023 @ St. John Baptist Church Anderson Quarry. Burial will be 2 pm Tuesday October 17, 2023 @ Fort Jackson National Cemetery
