Ms. Dorothy Thompson Obituary

Dorothy Lorriane Thompson better known as “Dot” or “Red bone” received her wings on February 7, 2022 at her home.

She was born on January 27, 1959 at the family home in Jenkinsville SC to the late Sarah Richards Thompson and the late Joe Thompson of Jenkinsville SC. She attended McCrorey-Liston High School in Blair SC.

Dorothy was a former employee of Louis Rich and she was also a caregiver to some of the community kids in Jenkinsville SC which she loved.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories her life-long partner, James E. Burns of Jenkinsville SC, her two daughters, Lekwan Thompson-Rabb (Dexter) of Winnsboro SC, Shanavia S. Thompson (Azia) of Columbia SC, grandchildren, Dextiny T. Rabb and Day’Nia Z. Rabb both of Winnsboro SC, sisters, Alice R. Peay of Blair SC, Enorma Coad of Columbia SC, brother-in-law, Odell Peay of Winnsboro SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special friend and family member, Vatraw Pearson.

Funeral service will be 1 pm Saturday February 12, 2022 @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180. Visitation will be Friday February 11, 2022 from 3 pm to 6 pm @ the funeral home.
