I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith
2 Timothy 4:7
My Heavenly Beginning: Cora Lillie “Big Mama” Feaster said goodbye to her earthly life on Tuesday, October 28 2025, in Ridgeway, South Carolina. God sent His angels to take her to her eternal home in heaven.
Her Story Began: Born Cora L. Feaster on May 20, 1936, to Geneva and John Feaster, she spent her entire life in Blair, South Carolina. She enjoyed farming, gardening, and cooking. Big Mama was the world’s best mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She never met a stranger and always had a joke or story to share. Her warmth brought joy and laughter to everyone she met. Fun and loving, she was always ready to talk, outgoing, happy, upbeat, and never without a smile. Her positive presence touched all who crossed her path. She deeply loved and adored her family, and she will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
Confessing her faith in Jesus Christ at an early age, Cora became a member of Hassion Hill Baptist Church, where she formerly sang in the musical choir and remained a devoted member until her health declined. She never missed a Sunday unless she was ill. Cora received her education in the public schools of Fairfield County.
Cora, affectionately known as “Big Mama” was preceded in death by her parents, John L. and Geneva Y. Feaster, her brother Sammie Feaster, and her two sisters, Bessie M. Feaster and Jessie M. Feaster. Rejoicing in her beautiful memories: three sons, Mozell, Herbert, and James (Reneé) all of Blair, South Carolina. Two daughters, Sally (Eugene) of Blair, South Carolina, and Cora Ann (Mickey) of Lancaster, South Carolina. Her beautiful grandchildren, Prentice, Michael, Gabriel, Trayvis, Mickey, Aaliyah, De’Asia, Ashanti, Genesis, Bianca, and Trikilah. Also, her precious
great-grandchildren, Amani, Legend, Ava, and Hanley. Her two lovely sisters Mattie Feaster of Chester, South Carolina, and Ruby Jackson of North Augusta. Along with a village of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral service will be 2 pm Sunday November 2, 2025 @ Hassion Hill Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday November 1, 2025 from 1 pm to 5 pm @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180.
