Mrs. Willie Mae Gadsden Obituary

Mrs. Willie Mae Caldwell Gadsden 50 daughter of the late Mr. Willie Joe Caldwell Sr., and the late Mrs. Mary Ella Turner Caldwell departed this life on Tuesday December 22, 2020 in Lancaster, South Carolina. She was born on March 10, 1970 in Ridgeway, South Carolina.

Mrs. Gadsden attended Great Falls High School and owned her own business (Blessed Flower Shop) and formerly employed at Fairfield Middle School Food Services.

Mrs. Willie Mae Gadsden was married to the love of her life, Mr. Stephen Gadsden for 18 years. She loved her kids and raised them to be the young men they are today. They were her protector.

 She was a proud member of The Liberty Christian Outreach Ministries in Winnsboro, South Carolina.

She is survived by husband Mr. Stephen Gadsden; her three sons, Stephon, Stepheno and Steven Gadsden; her stepchildren, Gregory D. Gadsden, Martees D. Gadsden, Quneisha N. Gadsden, Cortez D. Gadsden and Jaleesa Roach-Green. Her sister, Joyce Roach, brother, Willie Joe Caldwell Jr., her stepsister, Mrs. Sadie Mae Holmes; her two brother-in-law, Dwayne Roach and Kenneth Gadsden, her sister-in-law, Connie Gadsden and Andrea Gadsden, her mother-in-law Georganna Martin Gadsden, her aunts, Mrs. Johnnie Lamar and Mrs. Margaret Turner, her uncle Mr. Henry Perry, uncle Lee and aunt Helen Geiger and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin other relatives and friends all whom will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her daughter “Sunshine”, her parents, Willie Joe Caldwell Sr., and Mary Ella Turner Caldwell; her sister Ms. Rosa Lee Caldwell; her four aunts, Mrs. Mary Ann Kinchen and Mrs. Cora Woodard both of Ridgeway, SC; Mrs. Mary Alice Caldwell and Mrs. Rosena Caldwell both of Great Falls, SC; three uncles, Mr. Eugene Tompkins of Macon, Georgia, Mr. Heyward Gaither, Mr. Otis Caldwell and Mr. Bobby Caldwell all of Great Falls, SC.

Graveside service will be 12 noon Wednesday December 30, 2020 @ Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday December 29, 2020 from 12 noon to 6 pm @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180.
