Mrs. Whirley Mae Turner Barber 89 of 1456 Durham Place Rd. Winnsboro South Carolina departed this life on January 9, 2021 at Atrium Health. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Frank Turner Sr. and the late Mrs. Viola McCullough Turner Johnson. She was born in Fairfield County, South Carolina. She was married to the late Earnest Barber.
She attended the public schools of Fairfield County. She later got married to Earnest Barber and moved to New York where she worked in a factory. Later she returned back home to take care of her mother. She was a faithful member White Oak Baptist Church #1 where she served on the usher board and a willing worker until her health begin to fail.
Whirley was a loving, caring person and a joy to be around. Much happiness was brought to Whirley’s life by spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memories, sister-in-law Mattie Turner, nephews, Willie J. Turner, Thomas (Annie) Turner, Frank Turner III, and Melvin Turner, neice, Rebecca Turner, God daughter, Shirley McClurkin and a host of relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her brother, Frank Turner.
Graveside service will be 1 pm Saturday January 16, 2021 @ White Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 noon to 6 pm Friday January 15, 2021 @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home Chapel, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180.
