Mrs. Sylvia (O'Neal) Lawson

Mrs. Sylvia D. Lawson departed her earthly life on November 2, 2024 at Lexington Medical Center in Columbia SC. She transitioned into eternal life surrounded by her loving husband, sons and family. 

Sylvia was born on August 26, 1969 to Ms. Jessie Mae Perry in Fairfield County SC. Sylvia was a 1987 graduate of Fairfield Central High School in Winnsboro SC. She was employed at JTEKT as a machine operator B for twenty years. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and co-worker to many. Sylvia had the biggest heart—always welcoming anyone with open arms. If you ever came in contact with her you would never forget that affectionate smile. She loved her family very much, always keeping the family close together. She loved fishing at the lake and going on cruises with her family.

Sylvia met the love of her life, Mr. Jerome Lawson, Jr. in 1985. They got married in 1987 and to this union five sons and one daughter was born. Sylvia and Jerome have been together for forty years. They celebrated thirty-seven years of marriage on August 26, 2024.

Sylvia leaves to cherish her loving and fond memories: her husband, Jerome Lawson, Jr.; four sons: Jerome Lawson III, Joseph Lawson, Ezekiel Lawson of Winnsboro, SC and Marion (Haley) Lawson of Kansas City, MO; six grandchildren: Makhi Lawson, Star Lawson of Winnsboro, SC, Serenity Lawson of Sumter, SC, Kaiya Lawson of Kansas City, MO, Eliana Lawson and Elon Lawson of Asheville, NC; her mother, Jessie Mae Perry of Winnsboro, SC; father and mother-in-law, Jerome and Gloria Willingham or Winnsboro, SC; two brothers, Mack (Mildred) Willingham and Tom Willingham of Winnsboro, SC; two sisters, Johnnie Mae (Carmichael) Jeter of Winnsboro, SC and Laura (Andre’) Richardson of Elgin, SC; brothers-in-law: Eric Lawson and Mervin Lawson of Atlanta, GA , Brenton Lawson of New Jersey and Jamie Lawson of Pennsylvania; a very dear best friend for life Ms. Andrea Gadson; special cousin, Sheryl Trapp; special friends Sis. Anna Jean and Sis. Jill Ghouralal and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

Sylvia is preceded in death by her son, Benaiah Lawson and daughter, Veronica D. Lawson.

Funeral service for Mrs. Sylvia O'Neal Lawson will be Sunday November 10, 2024 @ 1:30 pm (12:30 pm viewing) @ Eagle Faith Tabernacle Church, 190 Peamar Dr. W. Columbia 29170.

There will no public viewing @ the funeral home, all viewing will be at the church on Sunday November 10, 2024.
