Mildred Vernice Turner Heath 94, was born in Winnsboro, SC on April 19, 1927 and was a daughter of the late Dock Alexander and Lillie Ray Alexander.
She went to be with the Lord on Sunday January 16, 2022 peacefully at her home.
She is survived by her loyal and only son, James Kelvin Heath of the home and niece, Sharon (Reggie) Thomas.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. The Lord blessed her with 3 grandchildren, Jorel Heath, Tyler Heath and Jalen Heath, 2 great grandchildren, Sebastian and Felicity, God daughter, Alexis Millings-Taylor and a host of relatives and friends. She always had a smile will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Mildred is preceded in death by her husband, Willie J. Heath, and her sister, Rosanna A. Propst.
She graduated from North Carolina A&T and Barber Scotia University. She taught elementary education for Fairfield County Schools for over 35 years and continue as a substitute teacher after her retirement.
She was a loyal member of Bethesda A.M.E Zion Church for over 50 years where she was on the Deaconess Board, Church secretary and a member of the choir. She was also a loyal member of many organizations, NAACP, meals on wheels, and The Roosevelt Street committee.
A memorial service will be 12 noon Monday January 24, 2022 @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180.
