Mattie L. Williams 66, of 340 Depot Road, Winnsboro, SC was born on December 31,1954. She transitioned peacefully in her sleep during the twilight hours of February 25, 2021. She was preceded in death by her late mother Louise Kelly.
She is survived by her husband Robert L. Grooms, her father James E. (Cornelia) Kelly, three daughters, Marie L. (Darren) Durham, Carmelita C. Kelly of Columbia SC, Quindolyn, D. (Omar) Jack of Ewa Beach Hawaii, one son, Tsanistis L. Moore of Columbia SC and Kirby V. Brooks (reared as a daughter). Five sisters, Annie L. (Harold) Lyles, Carolyn, M. Watkins and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends; all will miss her dearly.
She was a dedicated and hard worker. Her early years were spent in the Textile Mill industry, but her later years were in management. She managed several McDonald's restaurants in the Metro Columbia area . Her kindness and generosity knew no bounds. Her maternal love for people manifested itself in the lives of so many. Her caring nature allowed her to open her heart and home; strangers became children and raised as her own. More than anything, she was the life of the party. She prided herself on spending time, and bringing her family together. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her; and we have gained an Angel to cover us as we continue our journey through life.
Visitation will be Saturday March 6, 2021 from 9 am to 11 am @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180.
