Obituary
Ms. Laura Faye Mathis Wallington, daughter of the late Johnny Mathis Sr. and the late Ola Clamp Mathis was born February 4, 1939 in Newberry, South Carolina. She entered into the arm of Jesus on Thursday July 7, 2022 at her home in Jenkinsville, South Carolina.
She was a member of New Enoree Baptist Church in Newberry, South Carolina.
Those who celebrate her life and cherish precious and loving memories include her daughter, Darissa Stone of the home; one grandson of the home, Karmelo Wadsworth; a special nephew, Craig Collins; her beloved nieces, Tammy (Drexel) Martin, Glendora Wright, Dinetta Wright, and nephews, Jamie Wright, Ricky Wright and Bobby Mathis Jr. of Newberry, South Carolina; one brother-in-law, James L. Wright and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Wallington was preceded to Heaven by her late husband, Lenzy Wallington; two sisters, Ola Mae Tobe, Mamie Mathis Wright; three brothers, Bobby Mathis, Drayton and Johnny Mathis Jr.
Funeral service will be 2 pm Monday July 18, 2022 @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home Chapel, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180. Visitation will be Sunday July 17, 2022 from 3 pm to 5 pm.
