Mrs. Hattie Belle (Goins) Brown

Mrs. Hattie Belle Goins Brown departed this earthly life on Wednesday August 17, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Ridgeway, SC on March 18, 1939 to the late Harlee and Willie Louise Clark Goins and was the sixth of twelve children born to this union.

Hattie was educated in the public schools of Fairfield County. She was married to the late Deacon Lucius Brown. She worked at Crafts-Farrow State Hospital, Uniroyal of Winnsboro SC Fairfield Manor and Tanglewood Nursing Homes. At an early age she joined Antioch Baptist Church. After marriage she became a very active member of Good Hope Baptist Church.

She is survived by her two sons; Larry C. Brown and Thomas L. Brown (Sharon), four brothers; Willie A. Goins, Harlee Goins (Angela), Lewis Goins, Melvin Goins (Vera), two sisters; Ida Murphy and Bessie Kearney. Grandchildren; Charles Stewart, Shernitra Stewart, Kerry Dunlap and Shykiera Adams, brother-in-law; Ronald Brown, sisters-in-law; Ollie, Ada, and Daisy Brown, Earline Gladney and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends, all whom will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Harlee and Willie L. Goins, husband Lucius Brown, son; James F. Brown, daughter; Melissa A. Brown, siblings; Joe Hudson, Lula Cunningham (Governor), Katherine Weldon (Marshall), Joseph Goins (Juanita), Patricia Shannon (Willie L.), and Johnnie M. Harrison (Brownie), brothers-in-law; Ben Murphy, Walter Smith, Moses Brown and Richard Brown, Charlie Gladney, sister-in-law; Eloise Perry.

Funeral service will be 1 pm Wednesday August 24, 2022 @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home Chapel, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180 with burial @ Good Hope Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm Tuesday August 23, 2022 @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home.
