Mrs. Ethel H. Burrell was born on February 15, 1946, in Winnsboro, SC, to the late Eddie A. Hammond, Jr. and Cora Robinson Hammond. On December 4, 2024, surrounded by close family and friends, the Lord looked down upon the earth and said, "Enough, my daughter. You have fought a hard fight, and now it is time I say to you, well
done, thy good and faithful servant."
Ethel's unwavering dedication to her work was a testament to her character. She was a dental assistant for local dentists in Winnsboro and Columbia, SC. Ethel also worked in the business office at Fairfield Memorial Hospital, Fairfield County Schools, and as the meal site coordinator at the Fairfield County Council on Aging until her retirement in 2009. Her commitment and admirable work ethic marked her work, leaving a lasting impression on all who worked with her.
Ethel's love for her family and friends was as deep as her love for the University of South Carolina Women’s Basketball team. She cherished spending time with her loved ones, enjoyed shopping, and was an Order of Eastern Star member. Her 53-year marriage to her loving husband was a testament to her commitment to those she held dear.
