Mr. Willie Boykin Obituary

On Wednesday, August 5, 2020 God reached down in his own time and his own way and beckoned Willie Bradford Boykin from his earthly dwelling. 

Willie was born August 2, 1952 in Fairfield County to James and Mary Maple Boykin.

Willie was affectionately known by his friends/ family as "Yam".

He was educated in the public schools of Fairfield County. He was employed at the Department of Transportation in Chester County, JP Stevenson Mill in Great Falls SC and Charm Corporation of Ridgeway SC.

Willie enjoyed sports. He loved the New York Jets, and enjoyed High School football, basketball and baseball. He loved spending time with his son and family.

Willie accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of New Zion A.M.E Zion Church until the Church closed. He then moved his membership to Paradise A.M.E Zion. He was a faithful member and served on the Usher Ministry and the Gospel choir. Willie was a member of Flint Hill Masonic Lodge # 236 where he served as Worship Master.

He leaves precious memories to one son, Calvin Boulware (Yolanda) of NC, two brothers, James Robert Boykin (Lillian) of Winnsboro SC and Ronald David Boykin (Gwendolyn) of Columbia SC. One granddaughter, Keyatta Boulware, two great grands, one aunt Martha Carter of Greensboro NC. Two devoted cousins, Geneva Gibson of Ridgeway SC and Harold Heath (Helen) of Winnsboro SC, two special caregivers, Melvin Turner and Blake Martin both of Winnsboro SC.

A special devoted friend Christine Rice of Winnsboro SC, and a host of other relatives and friends whom will miss him dearly.

Graveside service for Mr. Willie Bradford Boykin will be 1 pm (12 noon viewing) Sunday August 9th, 2020 @ New Zion A.M.E Zion Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday August 8, 2020 from 2 pm to 6 pm @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home Chapel, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180. Masonic Rites will start at 5 pm.
