Mr. Wadell Adams

Mr. Wadell Adams was born on June 6, 1946, in Winnsboro, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Willie Adams, Sr. and Lugenia Adams. He departed this life on Sunday, August 11, 2024.

Mr. Adams was educated in the public schools of Fairfield County, South Carolina and graduated from Winnsboro High School, Class of 1965. 

He was employed as a mechanic at Uniroyal Tire, J.P. Stevens and also worked at Springs Industry as a machine operator. He retired after many dedicated years of working.  Throughout his life he was known as “The Neighborhood Mechanic”. He was an avid gardener.

Mr. Wadell Adams leaves to mourn his passing; his wife, Mae Frances Adams; his children, Timothy Adams, of Columbia, South Carolina; Arlene Lamar of Winnsboro, SC; Darnell Adams of Columbia, SC; Vernette (Peter) Jackson, of Winnsboro, SC; Curtis (Sumiko) Adams of Lancaster, SC; Tina Gidron of Columbia, SC; Tony (Belinda) Ruff of Winnsboro, SC; Lamorris Ruff of Winnsboro, SC; Joseph (Gilitra) Ruff of Lexington, SC; Latorsha Ruff of Columbia, SC; Wenona (Mandrell) Boyd of Lancaster, SC; Tammie Thompson of Waldorf, MD; brothers, Nathaniel (Marquetta) Adams of CA; Frank Adams of Columbia, SC; Lindsey (Gloria) Adams of Winnsboro, SC, Otis Adams of Winnsboro, SC; Isaac Adams of Winnsboro, SC; sister, Carrie Adams of Winnsboro, SC; 29 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many other loving relatives and caring friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Lugenia Adams; brother, Willie Adams, Jr. and a son, Wadell Cornelius Adams.

 Visitation will be Thursday August 15, 2024 from 4 pm to 7 pm @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180. Funeral service will be 3 pm Friday August 16, 2024 @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home Chapel, with burial @ Fairfield Community Cemetery Kincaid Bridge Rd. Winnsboro SC 29180.
