Mr. Robert Washington, Jr. of 417 Twisted Lane Blair SC departed this earthly life on Friday, July 21, 2023 at his home. He was born on August 22, 1952 to the late Robert and Elloies Washington, Sr. of Wilmington, NC.
Mr. Robert Washington, Jr. attended New Hanover High School in Wilmington, NC. He also served in the Marines. After his military service he gained employment with Brown Rodger Dixon and MB Khan. His hobby was fishing and he enjoyed spending time with family.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories: his wife Barbara Washington of Blair, SC; 6 sons: Robert Canty of Wilmington, NC, Curtis Washington (Veranda) of Columbia, SC, John Canty (Crystal) of Leland , NC, Darrell Washington of Wilmington, NC, James Washington of Florence, SC and Robert Washington, III of Blair, SC; 3 daughters: Bena Washington of Wilmington, NC, Lashunda Washington (Kerry) of Winnsboro, SC and Keonna Washington of Winnsboro, SC; 1 sister, Teresa Washington of Wilmington, NC; 4 brothers-in-law, 4 sisters-in-law; three special ladies he called sisters: Linda Sanders, Brenda Pearson, Merita “Niecy” Evans; 24 grandchildren, 1 special grandson, Kevon Sampson whom he called “My Boy”, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be 3 pm Friday July 28, 2023 @ Brown Chapel Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday July 27, 2023 from 2 pm to 6 pm @ the funeral home.
