Mr. Leon (L.A.) Harper

Mr. Leon (L.A.) Harper, Sr. 67, of 158 Creighton Rd., Winnsboro, SCdied on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Fairfield Health Care in Ridgeway, SC. Leon was born June 20, 1948 and was the son of the late Claude and Lugenia Mableton Harper.  Educated in the public schools of Fairfield County, Leon was a member of New Hope A.M.E. Church.  He was formerly employed with CCI and Wells Fargo as a security guard. He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Tracey Marshall and Rebecca Harper, both of Columbia, SC, one son, Leon Anthony Harper, Jr. of Winnsboro, SC; 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; sisters Delores Gilyard, Geneva Bell, Rev. Claudia Richardson, and Virginia Hart. Memorial services will be held Sunday August 16, 2015 @ 3:00pm Russell-McCutchen Chapel.  The Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home is serving the Harper family and is in charge of arrangements.
