Mr. Jimmie Sims Obituary

Mr. Jimmie Lee Sims was born on December 24, 1958 to the late Charlie and Etta Ruth Jackson Sims. Jimmie took his final rest at his home on Monday February 28, 2022. He joined Little River Presbyterian Church at an early age.

Mr. Sims was a graduate of McCrorey-Liston High School. Jimmie enlisted in the United States Army where he served 3 ½ years. Mr. Sims was employed at Coca Cola Inc. for 15 years until his health began to fail him.

Jimmie loved his family, but he also loved buying toys and candy for all the children. His home is what everyone called the grocery store, because you could shop and get anything from can goods to frozen foods.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Ann Dean Sims, two sons, McArthur Young of Texas, Kenneth Harvey of North Carolina, four daughters, Tammy Moreland of Grand Rapids Michigan, Sheanette L. Moreland of Simpsonville SC, Robin R. Ruff of Newberry SC, and Avilon S. Harmon of Spartanburg SC, four brothers, Charlie Sims (Hattie) of Lancaster SC, Arthur Sims (Mary) of Blair SC, Nathaniel Sims (Sharon) of Winnsboro SC, and Myron Sims of Blair SC, one sister, Mamie Woodard of Blair SC, brother-in-law, William Willis, nephews, Ruben Sims, D.J. Bates, his biggest helpers and supporters, close friends, Sylvester Davis, Betty Mitchell Sims and Connie Young and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Charlie and Etta Ruth Jackson Sims, sister, Rayetta Sims Willis, brother, Melvin Gene Sims.

Funeral service will be 2 pm Friday March 4, 2022 @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday March 3, 2022 from 2 pm to 5 pm @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180. Burial will be 10 am Monday March 7, 2022 @ Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Rd. Columbia SC 29229.
