Jessie Woodard was born on July 23, 1933 in Blair, South Carolina to the late Rebecca Trapp Robinson Woodard and Thomas Edward Woodard.
Mr. Woodard attended Chapell and Hassion Hill schools in Blair, S.C. At an early age, he joined Gethsemane Baptist Church in Blair, South Carolina. He was married to the late Lucy “Petie” Means of Blair, S. C.
Mr. Woodard was a pulpwood owner and operator. He was employed by Fairfield County School District as a custodian at McCrorey-Liston School for many years.
Survivors include one daughter Jessie Patricia (Marcus), two grandsons, Demarcus and Demond, one brother, Glenn Woodard of Blair, S. C., a special niece, Katricia Robinson of Blair, S.C . and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Thelma Feaster Reid; thirteen brothers, Coleman Woodard, Willie “Ace” Woodard, Mylo Woodard, Mack Woodard, James “Jim” Woodard, Hollis “Hol” Woodard, Eddie “Scace” Woodard, Thomas “Bub” Woodard, Richard “Rich” Woodard, Isaac “Jay” Woodard, David Robinson, Charles Robinson, and Clarence Robinson; eight sisters, Marie Woodard, Joyce Lee Woodard Hill, Inez Robinson Smith, Bessie Robinson Simuel, Willie Robinson Fields, Nancy Robinson Stewart, Floree Woodard Coleman, and Dorothy Woodard Hopkins.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm (1:00 pm viewing) Sunday March 22, 2020 @ Gethsemane Baptist Church with burial in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday March 21, 2020 from 2 pm to 4 pm @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180.
