James W. Hopkins was born to the late Mr. Wade Sr. and Clara Feaster Hopkins. He fell asleep in death peacefully at Palmetto Health Richland Memorial Hospital on May 2, 2018.He married his beloved friend and wife Carol Ann Chambers Hopkins in Hartford, CT. James was the father of four boys— one of which preceded him in death (the late Robert Hopkins of Hartford, CT) and five daughters. JW loved working in his yard and garden. He dearly loved all the children in the family as well as non-related children. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Carol Ann Hopkins; sons, James Hopkins, Jr. of Hartford, CT, Marlon Chambers of Winnsboro, SC, Demont Hopkins of Hartford, CT; five daughters, Bonita Hopkins of Hartford, CT, Patricia (Johnnie) Boyd, Linda (Mark) Hester of Lexington, SC, Latoya Chambers of Hartford, CT, Carol Lanesha Chambers of Winnsboro, SC; three brothers-in-law, Richard, Charles and Anthony Chambers of Winnsboro, SC; four sisters-in-law, Bertha Chambers (Terrance Snagg) of Winnsboro, SC, Annette Augustus of Vernon, CT, Sarah Chambers of Hartford, CT, Claudine Chambers of Springfield, MA; 17 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives, many friends and a special friend, Johnny Peoples, all of whom will miss him dearly. In addition to his parents and son, James was also preceded in death by six brothers, Henry, Wade, George, Cleon, Eugene and Ike and four sisters, Emma, Bert, Fannie, and Bobbie. Funeral service will be 1:00pm (12 noon viewing) Saturday May 12, 2018 @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180 with burial in Fairfield Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday May 11, 2018 from 12 noon to 7pm @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home.
