Mr. James Jerome Emerson

Mr. James Jerome “Ronnie” Emerson was born on May 2, 1953 in Fairfield County SC. He entered into the loving arms of God peacefully Monday December 18, 2023.

Ronnie was the son of Geneva Whitaker and the late James Emerson. He was proceeded in death by his sister Deborah Brightful.

Mr. Emerson was educated in the Fairfield County School District where he graduated. Shortly after school he went to the military to serve as a mechanic in the US Army. Upon leaving the Army, he relocated to Baltimore MD where he spent most of his adult life and worked in the textile industry. After moving back to SC he did logging work for several years. Must add, he had a great passion and love for classic automobiles.

Ronnie leaves to cherish his loving memories his mother, Geneva Whitaker of Baltimore MD, his only son, Antonia (Katrina) Emerson, a very very good friend, Douglas Johnson. His ex-wife, Thereasa Praylow loving and caring friend for life. Four grandchildren, Autumn, Taylor, Zhana and Jay’lan Emerson, two great grandsons, five sisters and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly and cherish his loving memories.

Funeral service will be 3 pm Thursday December 28, 2023 @ Morris Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday December 27, 2023 from 1pm till 5pm @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180.
