Freeman Simmons who was affectionately known as “Heavy” was a very kindhearted and loving person. He was the son of the late Albert and Lillia B Simmons. Freeman was born on January 27, 1958. He never met a stranger. His favorite past time was riding through the mall looking at the pretty girls. He was like a celebrity as he scroll up and down the mall, everybody knew him by name.
Most importantly, Freeman knew the Lord as his personal savior and because of his unwavering Faith in God, and trusting God to take care of him, He never complained about the situation he was in. Freeman had been paralyzed since March 28, 1984, but through it all he remained steadfast.
Freeman leaves to cherish his memories: (3) brothers: John (Cassandra) Simmons, Leonard (Doris) Simmons, Stanley (Beverly) Simmons: 2 sisters: Roxie S. (Walter) Woodard, Cathy S. (Stanley) Washington and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and close friends.

Funeral service will be 1 pm Thursday January 11, 2024 @ Bethlehem AME Church with burial @ Fairfield Memorial Cemetery on Smalltown Rd. Winnsboro SC. Viewing will be Wednesday January 10, 2024 from 3 pm to 6 pm @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180.
