Freddie Lawson departed this life on Friday, March 7, 2025, at AnMed Medical Center in Anderson, SC.
Mr. Lawson was born in Fairfield County on January 12th 1953 to the late Eddie Lawson and Lula Mae Gratic Lawson. He attended Fairfield County Schools and graduated from Winnsboro High in 1971. Freddie served with honor and distinction in the United States Marine Corps.
Among those left to cherish his memories are his siblings Stevie Lawson (Emely) of Winnsboro, SC; Pauline Lawson Perry of Winnsboro, SC; Mary Lawson Young (Joseph) of Ridgeway, SC; Jerome Willingham (Glory) of Winnsboro, SC; supportive cousin Brenda Taylor Smith of Raleigh, NC; one daughter Bonita Smith Franklin (Donald Franklin) of Columbia, SC; three grandchildren Darrien Coleman, Tyrese Young, and Javien Franklin of Columbia, SC; one loving goddaughter Sheila Boyd Chappell of Winnsboro, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Freddie is preceded in death by his parents Eddie Lawson and Lula Mae Gratic Lawson, his brothers Robert James Lawson, Belton Bell, David Lawson, his sister Gloria Lawson Alston, and his special friend Carolyn Burrell Cook.
Funeral service for Mr. Freddie Lawson will be 10:00 am Thursday March 13, 2025 @ County Grove Baptist Church, 110 Louden Cir. Winnsboro SC 29180. with burial @ Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Rd. Columbia SC 29229. Visitation will be Wednesday March 12, 2025 from 2 pm to 6 pm @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180.
The family request that visitation at the residence be from 5 pm to 8 pm daily.
