Mr. Corey Washington Obituary

Mr. Corey Evans Washington was born on May 21, 1988, in Columbia, South Carolina to Stanley and Cathy Washington. He peacefully transitioned into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.

Corey was a proud graduate of Fairfield Central High School in 2006 and continued his education at Midlands Technical College. From a young age, Corey was no stranger to hard work, beginning his career in the family construction business as soon as he was old enough to hold a shovel. He worked diligently with Washington Trucking and Paving, where his passion and dedication flourished. Corey eventually turned that passion into purpose by founding his own company, WT II Trucking.

Corey faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was an early member of New Hope AME Church where he actively participated in Church School and served as a member of the Children Choir.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and dedication. Corey is survived by his loving parents, Stanley and Cathy Washington of Winnsboro, SC; his brother, Brian Paul Washington of Winnsboro, SC; his aunts include: Bettye (John) Brown, Ruby (Johnny) Brown, Barbara (David) Wood, Hazel (Joseph) Rice, Linda Telford, Roxie (Walter) Woodard: his uncles include: John (Cassandra) Simmons, Leonard (Doris) Simmons and Stanley (Beverly) Simmons, along with a host of cousins and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Corey was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Robert and Hattie B. Washington, and his maternal grandparents, Albert and Lilla B. Evans Simmons.

Corey warmth, work ethic, and kind spirit touched all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
