Mr. Celeste Herndon

Mr. Celeste Herndon, a retired machine operator for General Motors based in Clark, New Jersey. He was a former resident of New Jersey who currently resided in South Carolina, died Sunday September 9, 2018 at National Healthcare in West Columbia South Carolina. He was 91.

The son of the late Wade Herndon Jr. and Jannie Pearson, he was born August 5, 1927 in Jenkinsville, South Carolina.

He is survived by his daughter Sherril Herndon Porter and her husband Joseph L. Porter; granddaughter Nia Porter Dickerson. Great Grandchildren; Daria Porter, Quinton Dickerson, Delilah Dickerson and Dianna Dickerson who all reside in Illinois and a host of other loving relatives and friends all whom will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Gregory Glen Herndon.

Due to inclement weather, funeral service for Mr. Celeste Herndon will be held 4 pm Friday, September 14, 2018 @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180.

Interment will be held at White Hall A.M.E. Church Cemetery Jenkinsville SC at a later date.
