Mr. Bobby Simmons Sr. Obituary

Bobby Nathaniel Simmons Sr., affectionately known as “Pete” was born to the late Albert and Lilla B. Evans Simmons. Born on December 15, 1956 in Winnsboro, SC and transitioned into his eternal rest on Friday, August 6, 2021.

Bobby attended the public schools of Fairfield County for his education. Bobby worked in construction and iron worker and later in life he did odd jobs as a ground’s keeper. He had many lifelong friends and never met a stranger.

Bobby has preached at many churches in Fairfield County and in the surrounding communities, North Carolina and Georgia. He did not mind traveling, so anywhere someone would ask him to preach he would make plans to attend. Growing up he attended Bethlehem where he sang on the choir for many years, he sang with the Pathway Prayer Band and also with the Voices of Bethlehem and Simmons Family Choir. As he began preaching and pastoring, he continued to call Bethlehem home.

Bobby leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Cynthia Davis Simmons; sons Bobby N. Simmons Jr. and Terrance Simmons; daughter Dishika Simmons; Stepdaughters Lavetra Davis and Techica Davis, stepson Tyvin Williams; grandsons Brunson Simmons; Kyngst’n Amir Turner; Christopher Julian Douglas; granddaughter Atiya Simmons; brothers: John (Cassandra) Simmons, Leroy Simmons, Rev. Leonard (Doris) Simmons, Freeman Simmons, Stanley (Beverly) Simmons; sisters: Roxie (Walter) Woodard, Cathy (Stanley) Washington. A host of
nieces, nephews, cousin’s other relatives and close friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lilla B. Simmons, brothers James and Christopher Simmons, sister Vanesa S. McCants and nephews Freeman Simmons Jr. and Christopher Simmons Jr.

Funeral service will be 12 noon Monday August 9, 2021 @ Bethlehem AME Church , 3276 Smallstown Rd. Winnsboro SC 29180 with burial in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2pm to 7pm Sunday August 8, 2021 @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180.
