Billy Carl Coleman a beloved man was born in Winnsboro, South Carolina on September 17, 1961, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Eddie and Lula Lee Coleman. He was called to rest on Monday, March 6, 2023.
Billy received his education from the public school system of Fairfield County. He was a graduate of Winnsboro High School. He was briefly a part of the Army National Guard. Billy was employed as a landscaper, painter, and handyman. He was very passionate about his work and helping others throughout the Blackjack Community. In his younger days as he strolled throughout the Blackjack Community, he was known for whistling and having that swag when he walked. Billy always loved reading the Bible and would often say “God looks at a man’s heart”.
Billy was previously married to Rosalyn Coleman Grant and from this union were two sons. Justin Coleman (Shaneka) of Columbia, SC,
and Cory Coleman (Valencia) of Columbus, GA. He leaves one daughter Monique Johnson of Winnsboro, SC.
Those who will forever cherish his fond and precious memories are his siblings, one brother Ronald Coleman (Joyce) of Winnsboro, SC. Three sisters Betty Burgess of Hartford, CT,
Jackie Chappell (Phillip) of Winnsboro, SC, and Joyce Johnson (Tyrone) of Columbia, SC. He was predeceased by two brothers, Eddie Coleman, Jr and Bernard Colman, and two sisters, Mary Gavin and Elease Coleman.
He also leaves to cherish his memories his grandchildren Janell Coleman, Justice Coleman, Justin Coleman, Jr, of Columbia, SC; Cory Coleman, Jr,
Tory Coleman, Aden Coleman, Jden Coleman and Rafael Coleman of Columbus, GA; Lazarus Johnson of Winnsboro, SC and one great grandchild Aubrie Johnson.
He also leaves precious memories to a special caregiver his niece, Iman Campbell and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Funeral service will be 1 pm Tuesday March 14, 2023 @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home Chapel, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180 with burial @ Blackjack Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday March 13, 2023 from 1 pm to 5 pm @ the funeral home.
