Bernard Elwood Alexander, 63 was called to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at his home in the Smalltown Comunity of Winnsboro SC. He lived a good life and brought a smile and laughter to everyone that he met and loved.
Bernard was born August 20, 1956 in Winnsboro SC to the late Helen D. Alexander. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Mrs. Mattie Knuckles Alexander who passed away in March of 1995.
He was educated in the public school system in Winnsboro SC where he graduated from Winnsboro High School in 1974. He attended Benedict College where he ran track and field. Bernard was employed with Alexander Logging Company which was ran by his nephew. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. He also love his football team Carolina Panthers.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories his son, Terry Plair (Sherquanna Davis) of Winnsboro SC, his daughter, Kamesha Coleman of Columbia SC, two brothers, Harold (Jessie) Alexander of Winnsboro SC, Gordon (Janie) Alexander of Columbia SC, two sisters, Mae Donia Tucker of Blackstone VA, and Bernice (Samuel) Marion of Lithonia GA, a devoted and special friend, Virginia Jones, 6 granddaughters (A’Mira, AuBrianna, Shy, Jade, Jessica, and Kristen) 2 grandsons (Damion and Kadien), nieces, nephews and host of other relatives and friends, all whom will miss him dearly.
Bernard was preceded in death by his mother, Helen D. Alexander and his brother, Michael Alexander.
Graveside service will be 1 pm Saturday May 16, 2020 @ Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Peay St. Winnsboro SC 29180. Visitation will be Friday May 15, 2020 from 1 pm to 7 pm @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180.
