Elder Abraham Boyd Jr

Elder Abraham Boyd Jr. affectionately known as Rev or Jr.  was born on January 10, 1967 in Fairfield County to the late Abraham Evans and Ethel Lee Boyd Myers. He departed this life on January 14, 2024.

Elder Boyd was educated in the public schools of Fairfield County and graduated from Winnsboro High School Class of 1985. He accepted the Lord at an early age and became an ordained minister in 1993. He went to seminary school where he earned several degrees and certificates in biblical studies. He enjoyed cooking, baking cakes/pies, serving others, and he LOVED his family. Elder Boyd was the founder of Men Helping Men Ministry where he supported the spiritual growth among men and encouraged a relationship with Christ. 

Elder Boyd is survived by his brothers: Jason Boyd and Rickey Boyd, and his sister, Janice Boyd McDaniel (Tony McDaniel). Nephews: Robert McDaniel, Javis Boyd (of the home), Tony Tyrell McDaniel, and TyKedrick Kemary McDaniel. Niece: Shenika Young; a host of great nieces, and other family and friends. 

Elder Boyd was preceded in death by his late father, Abraham Evans, his mother, Ethel Lee Boyd Myers, his maternal grandfather Uzell Boyd, his maternal grandmother, Rosa Lee Boyd, his paternal grandmother and grandfather, and his sister-in-law Henrietta Boyd. 

Funeral service will be 2 pm Tuesday January 23, 2024 @ Morris Creek Baptist Church with burial @ St. Matthew First Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 4 pm till 6 pm January 22, 2024 @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180.
