Deacon, Lawrence Samuel Boyd (Randy) was born in Tuskegee Alabama on April 29, 1948, to Johnnie and Lucy Boyd.
2 nd Timothy 4:7 (KJV): “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”
Randy attended South Macon High School. He had a passion for cooking, he worked as a Chef at the Westchester Medical Center in White Plains New York, where he worked for roughly 20 years. All who knew and loved him called him Randy.
He was a devoted husband who loved his children and grandchildren (Especially Kitty Bo). Deacon Lawrence was preceded in death by his father Johnnie Boyd, mother Lucy Boyd, 2 brothers, and sister Virginia Walker. He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife of 35 years Bertha Boyd, 8 sons Anthony, Royce (Maria), James (Tabitha), Tom (Frances), Stanley, Donald (Tronie), Steve (Jay), Bruce (Anita), and one daughter Christine. Three sisters Faye Sharpe, Mary Alice, and Beatrice. One Aunt Catherine Patterson and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Funeral service will be 1 pm Thursday September 12, 2024 @ St. Luke Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday September 11, 2024 from 5 pm to 7 pm @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180.
