Deacon Lucius Brown

 

Deacon Lucius Brown 86, of 4436 Hwy 34 E Ridgeway SC passed away on November 17, 2018. He was born on November 13, 1932 to the late Samuel and Ceola Brown.

Deacon Brown joined Good Hope Baptist Church at an early age and was a faithful member. He also served as Chairman of the Deacon Board.

Deacon Brown started out in the pulpwood industry and was a longtime entrepreneur; having his own family logging business, Brown and Sons Logging.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife: Hattie M. Goins Brown of the home; two sons: Larry and Thomas Brown of Ridgeway SC. One brother: Ronald Brown of Columbia SC, four sisters: Earline Gladney of Winnsboro SC, Ollie M. Brown and Ada Brown both of New Jersey, and Daisy Brown Connecticut. Also reared in the home: Chante Watson, Alex Watson, Elisha Grier and Shykiera Adams. Four brother-in laws: Willie A. Goins of Ridgeway SC, Harlee (Angie) Goins of Ridgeway SC, Lewis Goins of Ridgeway SC, and Melvin (Vera) Goins of Ridgeway SC. Six sister-in-laws: Lula Cunningham of Ridgeway SC, Katherine Weldon of Ridgeway SC, Ida R. Murphy of New York, Patricia Shannon of Ridgeway SC, Bessie Kearney of New York and Johnnie M. Harrison of Ridgeway SC. He will be truly missed by all his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter: Melissa A. Brown, four brothers: Moses, Richard and James Brown, one sister: Eloise Perry.

Funeral service for Deacon Lucius Brown will be 2:00pm (1:00pm viewing) Saturday November 24, 2018 @ Good Hope Baptist Church with burial in Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday November 23, 2018 from 1pm to 7pm @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180.
